24-Month ABSN Pathway & Curriculum

All academic coursework is online, with a combination of synchronous and asynchronous classes. Course requirements and times vary each semester. Students will complete 90 total lab hours, with 60 of those online and 30 onsite in the form of lab intensives. Clinical hours vary per course and may be assigned during the day, evening, or weekend, but will not exceed 9 hours per week.

Yes, because this pathway extends the length of the 12-Month Accelerated Bachelor's program, and offers a fully-online format, students can more easily accomodate work or other commitments. Instead of a courseload of 14-17 credits per semester, the 24-Month program is 7-9 credits. Please note that the first semester features a 9-credit courseload over the first half of the semester.

The 24-Month pathway features the same curriculum, experience, and outcomes as the 12-Month program, but spreads out the coursework and clinical requirements over a two-year period, and offers a fully-online format.  The 24-Month pathway also similarly follows a cohort-style format, meaning students who begin the program in May will complete the same coursework and clinical in-step and at the same pace as their peers.

Yes, for the 24-Month Accelerated Bachelor's program, all coursework is offered online in a combination of synchronous and asynchronous classes. Most labs are also offered online; however, some lab intensives and simulation experiences are delivered onsite at the School of Nursing, taking advantage of a new 26,000 square foot simulation and experiential learning expansion. Clinical experiences will take place fully in-person on the University of Rochester Medical Center campus.

Applications for the 24-Month program are considered for summer semester entry only, with applications due November 1st. Decisions are typically released 6-10 weeks after the application deadline.
